Getting started with a natural beauty regimen doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, it can be quite fun and not as expensive as you may think. There are many healthy alternatives to toxin-heavy beauty products that are both easy to acquire and to learn how to apply. All it takes is a few natural products, some creativity and knowing about some DIY hacks. Here are our favorites:
The wonderment of tea tree oil
Providing one of the best natural antibacterial sources, tea tree oil can help reduce the bacteria that causes acne, clean clogged pores and keep your skin dirt free. All it takes is a couple of drops of 100% pure organic tea tree oil on a cotton ball, diluted with some purified water, followed by a dabbing on trouble areas. You’ll love the smell as well as the positive effects on your skin.
Get softer lips by scrubbing
Gentle lip exfoliation is a natural and healthy way to softer lips. Creating a DIY lip scrub is a fun and all-natural solution. Simply mix one 1/4 cup brown sugar with just 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil. Add two teaspoons of lemon juice, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Use on lips daily for soft, supple, kissable lips.
Homemade, natural skin mask
If your daily grooming routine has turned your skin a little dull, using a homemade turmeric-based facemask is a DIY beauty hack you’ll love. Combine two tablespoons of oats with one teaspoon of numeric powder and three tablespoons of milk. Mix in about a tablespoon of honey, then slather on your face. After a few minutes, rinse your face. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with how lighter and brighter your skin looks and feels.
Ingredients in your kitchen can help you get an all-natural bronze glow. Believe it or not, an organic cocoa powder can be mixed with cinnamon and powdered sugar, which can then be applied to your face as any other bronzer. You’ll want to play with the balance of ingredients to get the tone you’re looking for, so we recommend trying a few different combinations. The best part of this DIY hack isn’t just that it’s all natural and organic, but it will leave you smelling like decadent chocolate.
Remove makeup with Grapeseed oil
Grapeseed oil is an excellent moisturizer, especially for acne-prone skin. It has antioxidant properties and is non-comedogenic (doesn’t block pores). It can effectively remove eye makeup such as mascara, eyeshadow, and eyeliner while moisturizing these areas.
Rejuvenate your hands with coffee
Coffee is surprisingly a natural exfoliator. This daily drink can remove dead and dry skin from the surface leaving your hands looking healthy and glowing. You can create this homemade skin product by mixing the coffee grounds with olive oil or any other oil you prefer. Massage your hands gently with this 100% natural product for a couple of minutes as you would apply any other hand cream. Afterwards, rinse your hands with lukewarm water. Do this bi-weekly, and your hands will look and feel fantastic.
Use a natural body scrub
Mix one tablespoon of sugar, two tablespoons of coffee grounds, and four tablespoons of olive oil to create a homemade body scrub. Gently massage the mixture in circular motions and concentrate on dry areas. Such natural products can amaze you as they leave your skin tender and soft.
